EDUCATION 1990-1993: M.A. and Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation, Buffalo State College, Buffalo, New York. ADDITIONAL COURSES August 1993: New Methods in the Cleaning of Painted Surfaces, conducted by Richard Wolbers, Associate Professor in the Art Conservation Department at the University of Delaware. WORK EXPERIENCE August 1993 to present: Assistant Conservator, Richmond Conservation Studio, Richmond, Virginia. L. Cleo Mullins, Chief Conservator. Duties include examination, documentation, and treatment of paintings and some decorative objects; supervision and training of technicians. June 1993: Intern, North Carolina Museum of Art. David Findley, Chief Conservator. Duties included examining paintings, proposing treatments, and remedial treatment on selected paintings. June 1992-June 1993: Intern, Richmond Conservation Studio, Richmond, Virginia. L. Cleo Mullins, Chief Conservator. Duties included examining and treating paintings, supervising and training technicians. February 1985-1990: Conservation Technician, Richmond Conservation Studio, Richmond, Virginia. Supervisor, L. Cleo Mullins. Duties included examining and treating paintings and decorative objects, supervising and training technicians, and assisting the Conservator as needed. Specialization in filling and inpainting. September 1984- February 1985: Technician, Grigsby-Hallman Studio. Assisted in removal of lead paint from the woodwork in the interior of the White House of the Confederacy and its subsequent restoration. INDEPENDENT CONSERVATION PROJECTS February-November 1986: Cleaned, coated, filled, and inpainted the marbleized cast iron fireplace in the library of the White House of the Confederacy. Assisted by technician Carol B. Givens. February-March 1988: Cleaned and coated two Carrara marble mantlepieces on the first floor of the White House of the Confederacy. HONORS AND AWARDS 1993: Recipient of the George Stout Award to attend the Annual AIC Convention in Denver, Colorado. 1992-1993: Graduate Art Conservation Fellowship Award, from The Andrew Mellon Foundation Endowment. 1990-1992: Graduate Art Conservation Fellowship Award, from the National Endowment for the Arts. Fall 1990: Tuition Scholarship, Art Conservation Department, Buffalo State College. 1986: Awarded Artist-in Residence for the Virginia Museum traveling chapter affiliates program. 1985: Awarded Virginia Commonwealth University Graduate Teaching Assistantship. Full teaching responsibilities. 1984-1985: Awarded Virginia Graduate Grants. 1984: Awarded Virginia Commonwealth University Graduate Assistantship.
